Creative Director and FF&E Specialist | Multifamily DesignRockville, MD - Hybrid Working Style (2 days in office, 3 days remotely)

The primary responsibility of the Creative Director and FF&E Specialist is to ensure quality control of multi-family projects, with a focus on FF&E. This role should facilitate a smooth project process with the team from initial design concept and selection through specification and procurement. The Creative Director and FF&E Specialist will also play a key role in mentorship of the design team through both the interactive review process and also in-person by attending project installations regularly to assess individual and team performance.
Key Impact Areas
- Analyze new project data and guide team to the correct vendors based on timing, budget, and aesthetic.
- Collaborate with design team at project kickoff to help inspire and spark creativity and provide team with all necessary information for success.
- Coordinate with the design team during the design process to ensure all client requirements are being met while ensuring the quality control process is being followed.
- Work with design leadership to maintain the design process and evaluate it’s efficacy on a regular basis, implementing improvements or adjustments as needed.
- Ensure that the design team maintains the project budget throughout the specification process.
- Participate and conduct, as needed, FF&E presentations to client, both in person and virtually.
- Review specifications prior to procurement process to ensure accuracy and quality control and develop an ongoing process for review.
- Assemble and lead a team of designers to install high end project installations to ensure quality and client satisfaction
- Attend project installations to regularly assess individual performance, train designers to improve in areas of weakness, and assess overall team performance in both FF&E and finish design.
- Facilitate client walk-throughs as needed and communicate any follow-ups requested by the client or as needed due to damages. Analyze overall performance and provide comprehensive feedback to the team post-installation to outline successes and challenges.
- Work with data entry coordinator to manage and oversee vendor and resource library and coordinate trade show attendance and attendance purpose/goals.
- Participate in interview process for hiring of new designers and assist with onboarding, training, and mentoring new hires on the team.
- Collaborate with the design leadership team on various initiatives for the multi-family design department, including but not limited to team meetings to inspire and engage, creative inspiration messages, performance reviews, and the development of corporate week plans.
Qualifications
- Interior Design Degree or Interior Architecture Degree
- 5-7 years’ experience in multi-family or hospitality design industry with strong FF&E experience requiredÂ
- Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD
- Experience with full design process from programming to punch out
- Innate leadership skills –the ability to bring people together with an energetic and positive attitude
- Experience with budget management – understands how to allocate budget and appropriate use of vendors
- Strong client relations and relationship building skills
- Ability to travel to job sites
