This is an amazing opportunity to work with an award winning, Seattle-based luxury interior design firm. We are seeking a Senior Interior Designer to join our growing and creative team. The firm has projects that are located all over the Pacific Northwest and beyond. In addition to the team and amazing clients, this position offers the chance to collaborate with some of the best architects, contractors and workrooms in the Pacific Northwest.
As the Senior Interior Designer, you'll spearhead design development efforts to craft intricate solutions that resonate with the overarching vision, collaborating closely with the firm’s Principal for unparalleled excellence. Through captivating 3D visualization and meticulous sketching, you'll breathe life into concepts, while your adeptness at creating floor plans and renderings sets the stage for awe-inspiring interiors. With a keen eye for detail, you'll ensure the utmost quality and consistency in design deliverables, navigating complex tasks from reviewing shop drawings to managing pricing and sourcing, all while fostering seamless project coordination and nurturing client relationships with finesse.
Key Responsibilities
Design Development:
- Lead design development efforts and construction of documents to generate detailed design solutions that align with the overall vision with the input from the PrincipalÂ
- Conceptualize and communicate ideas through 3D visualization, mood boards, and sketching.
- Create floor plans, elevations and interior renderings.
- Ensure quality and consistency of design deliverables.
- Review shop drawings, respond to RFI’s and ensure compliance with building codes and systems.
- Manage the pricing of various design items such as furniture, fabrics, and accessories.Â
- Manage sourcing of selections and specifications of finish materials, furniture, accessories and any other applicable items for client projects.
- Coordinate project team for seamless workflow and completion.
- Manage multiple design projects with varying timelines simultaneously.
- Provide design leadership and mentorship to junior designers and team members
- Interface with clients, contractors and consultants.
- Partner on project meetings and client presentations including presenting design concepts and proposals.
- Present design concepts and proposals, incorporating client feedback.
- Communicate with vendors about pricing, orders and custom designs.
- Work closely with clients to understand design needs and preferences and translate this information into compelling design concepts and proposals.
- Track and maintain project budgets.
- Create and maintain design documentation, including style guides and specifications.
- Enter product information into Studio Designer and manage proposals through DocuSign.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in interior design
- 5+ years of interior design experience
- Proficiency in Sketchup and AutoCAD; experience with Studio Design is a plus
- Understanding the financial aspects of running a design project on time and on budget
- Strong knowledge of the design process including specification of materials, FF&E and color
- Desire and ability to work in a creative, collaborative, service-oriented environment and prioritize while performing on multiple projects simultaneously
- Resilient to coping with client demands & able to prioritize duties and work effectively
- Excellent oral, written and graphic communication skills
