Expeditor/Purchasing Agent | Chicago, IL

As an Interior Design Expeditor, you will play a crucial role in facilitating the seamless
execution of our projects. Working closely with our design team and vendors, you will be responsible for the procurement and delivery of materials, furnishings, and accessories.
Key Responsibilities:
- Order Processing: Manage all aspects of the purchasing process; including pricing and quote requests, generating purchase orders, coordinating vendor payments, tracking shipments, and resolving any issues that may arise. Coordinate with vendors to ensure timely delivery.
- Logistics Coordination: Supporting the team to coordinate logistics for deliveries and installations; including scheduling shipments, coordinating with freight carriers, and arranging installations. Ensure that all deliveries are received and installed according to project timelines and specifications.
- Inventory Management: Manage all items as they arrive at their destination; oversee warehouse inventory reports, confirm receipt of materials with contractors, workrooms, etc.
- Communication and Collaboration: Serve as a liaison between the design team, vendors, and contractors. Provide regular updates on procurement progress, project status, and potential delays.
- Invoicing: Assist the design team with invoicing of completed items.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in interior design, business administration, or related field.
- Proven experience in interior design procurement, expediting, or project management role.
- Strong knowledge of interior design principles, materials, and furnishings.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Studio Designer and Microsoft Office Suite.
