General Manager | TRADE - Architecture & Interior Design | Dallas, TX

We seek a General Manager to oversee our client's premier destination for high-end furnishings, a leading source of modern furniture in the market. This dynamic General Manager will guide and lead the team for the Trade showroom to the architecture and interior design community. If you have the expertise to inspire a team and drive success, this could be the right opportunity for you. As the General Manager, you will be at the forefront of establishing the company's Trade as the leading resource for the DFW area's architecture and interior design community. Your role will encompass leadership, strategic planning, and operational excellence, ensuring our clients receive the best service from purchase through to delivery. You will lead a talented team of designers, driving metrics and fostering a culture of total customer satisfaction.

Goals and Objectives

  • Industry Leadership: Position the company's Trade as the top resource for the architecture and interior design community in DFW.
  • Financial Success: Achieve profitability in line with the company’s budgeted goals.
  • Sales Excellence: Surpass established sales volume targets.
  • Team Motivation: Develop and inspire a team dedicated to exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Employee Supervision: Directly oversee all showroom employees, with a focus on sales and order closures.
  • Performance Monitoring: Track and report on individual sales performance relative to goals.
  • Sales Leadership: Lead all sales activities and initiatives, addressing any performance issues.
  • Policy Compliance: Ensure all managerial actions comply with company policies and applicable laws.
  • Showroom Standards: Maintain showroom cleanliness and accurate pricing.
  • Operational Liaison: Act as the liaison between administration, delivery, corporate, call center, and customer service departments.
  • Service Management: Proactively manage service issues with the service team.
  • Client Strategy: Develop strategies for handling difficult clients and situations.
  • Customer Relations: Address customer complaints and resolve issues to maintain good public relations.
  • Staff Management: Handle recruiting, training, performance appraisals, and employee relations.
  • Continuous Training: Provide ongoing training to enhance team skills and customer satisfaction.
  • Project Participation: Participate in committees and special projects as needed.
  • Corporate Coordination: Align with corporate and senior management to address showroom needs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
  • Minimum of 5 years of management experience in the home furnishings industry, preferably working with the architecture and interior design (trade) community.
  • Proven leadership and motivational skills.
  • Budget management experience highly preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites.
  • Knowledge of POS systems preferred
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills with all management levels and staff.
  • Effective written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
