Interior Designer - Luxury Model Home Interior Design
REMOTE ROLE - Person Based in the East Coast of the United States

The primary responsibility of the Interior Designer is to complete model home designs based on the company brand standards, Creative Director guidance, and Client preferences, directive, budget and timeframes. The interior designer will have access to a variety of support systems including operational, project management, purchasing, accounting, and warehouse support. It is the Interior Designer’s key focus to be the main point of contact throughout the project, maintaining ownership of all key responsibilities related to budget, timeframes, and other project parameters, leveraging these support systems as needed and indicated by company policies. This Position reports to the Vice President of Design and Creative Director.
The Interior Designer...
- Prepare for and attend kick-off meetings, obtaining all necessary information to compete the project according to the client directive and company standards
- Collaborate with the Creative Director team, leveraging their feedback and guidance through the design process to ensure the best product is delivered and installed
- Design model home projects as assigned by the leadership team according to client directive and outlined parameters indicated by the leadership team
- Attend and present project presentations with clients as requested or directed
- Complete interior selections for model home projects including but not limited to flooring, paint, lighting, countertops, cabinets, hardware, appliances, tile, and any other decorative materials per the project scope and requirements
- Complete all project drafting as required per company policy and as needed in collaboration with our drafting department to complete the finish schedule documents, providing the client with necessary and accurate information for construction and development.
- Manage all assigned projects from kickoff to completion, meeting deadlines as assigned and communicating internally and externally in a timely and professional manner
- Travels to the job sites when needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design from an accredited university
- 5+ years of experience in Model Home interior design/model home merchandising
- MUST have a model home interior design portfolio
- NCIDQ preferred
- Proficiency in AutoCAD required
- Experience with understanding of architectural details and constructability
- Strong knowledge of model home construction methods and materials
- Experience with budget management – understands how to allocate budget and appropriate use of vendors
- Ability to read builder plans and comprehend
- Ability to communicate designs verbally and written plus in presentations
- Strong client relations and relationship building skills
- Ability to travel to job sites in Florida
