Junior Designer | High-end Residential | Chicago, IL
Our client is a boutique firm specializing in turn-key bespoke solutions for residential interior design, and renovation. We are committed to delivering innovation, precise execution, extraordinary design, and superior customer service to each client.
We are seeking Junior Interior Designer interested in custom high-end residential experience. This person will be responsible for assisting the Design Director and Design Associates in designing high end interior residential spaces. Assisting in field measuring and site verification, drawing assistance in AutoCAD, managing project documentation and meeting with vendors to manage and organize the design resources/library are primary focuses of this position.
Primary Responsibilities
- Project site surveying and documentation of existing site conditions
- Update current/updated specifications/cut sheets & project schedules
- Assist in the creation of and edits to Drawing Sets:
- Create, detail, and modify blueprints.
- Draw up floor plans, sketches, and renderings.
- Utilize computer software to create drawings, renderings, etc.
- Update project Dropbox and server files as required
- Procure architectural samples from various vendors and subcontractors
- Communication with vendors and subcontractors to obtain quotes, specifications, and samples
- Place FF&E Orders with vendors and subcontractors Furnishings
- Sourcing of decorative lighting, furnishings & fabrics
- Preparation of client design presentations in Adobe InDesign
- Preparation of client proposal packages in Studio Designer
- Communication with vendors and subcontractors to obtain quotes, specifications, and samples
- Responsible for procurement and tracking of purchased furnishings & accessories
- Manage furnishings installations & coordinate deliveries Global
- Assist Design Director or Senior Designer with creation of client presentations
- Communicate with Design Director and Design Associate to ensure all drawing or presentation modifications are completed as planned/directed
- Create project binders & maintain them with updated content
- Create project closeout manuals for clients
- Meet with Vendors to procure samples, update sample inventory that represents our brand
- Administrative tasks including package preparation, filing, Design library and office/showroom organization, sample pick-ups and returns, and office supply management and orders
- Assist Design Director with book-keeping and client billings Preferred
Qualifications
- 3+ years’ experience at an Interior Design Firm, Architectural Studio or Industry Showroom
- Knowledge of the current design trends of Furnishings, Decorative Lighting, Fabrics, Plumbing fixtures, Hardware, Wood Flooring, Stone/Tile
- Proficient in AutoCAD
- Proficient in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe InDesign
- Studio Designer Webware/Software experience preferred
- 3D Rendering/Modeling software experience a plus
- Willingness to learn and be open for constructive feedback
