Junior Interior Designer - Residential & Commercial Interiors | New York City
We are seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Junior Interior Designer to join our client’s dynamic team of experienced designers. In this role, you will apply your creative design skills on luxury residential and commercial interior projects. Join a luxury interior design firm known for their unique and recognizable approach to interior design.
In this role, you will…
- Support luxury residential and commercial design projects from start to completion
- Design and manage deliverables for projects efficiently, within schedule and within budget
- Collaborate all design selections and creative concepts with Principal
- Assist in the creation of the documentation of interior Design CD sets
- Source pieces globally and help develop solid catalog system
- Collaborate, oversee, and assist other designers on projects
- Assist in the procurement of FF&E products
- Complete interior design renderings and drawings for residential and some commercial interior projects
- Perform design presentations to the design team and clients
- Assist and oversee documenting all selections in a clear format, for finalizing design
- Assist in the creation and oversee, when needed, the completion of finish boards
Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree in Interior Design
- 2-3 years of firm experience in luxury residential interior design
- Previous commercial interiors experience in additional to residential experience a plus
- Proficient in AutoCAD
- Ability to create and develop conceptual designs
- Knowledge of FF&E selection (materials, finishes, detailing and scheduling)
- Fully competent in producing detailed FF&E specification with pricing, materials, finishes, and various types of schedules: plumbing fixture, finish, lighting, door hardware, etc.
- Self-motivated but also a good team player who is able to work quickly and efficiently in an organized manner
- Ability to working with other design team members, vendors and clients
- Excellent communication skills including verbal, written and visual
- Exceptional attention to detail
