Lead Interior Designer - High-end Residential Design

This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic Interior Designer to work on high-end residential projects with a collaborative team. As the Lead Interior Designer, you will lead creative collaborative teams dedicated to developing and implementing high-quality designs for residential spaces. The Lead Designer will be responsible for delivering high-quality deliverables. This includes all phases of design: programming, FF&E, schematic design, design development, construction documentation, and construction administration. You will be responsible for projects from the initial client meeting through installation and will work directly with the Design Director to ensure the project is completed on time and on budget to the highest standards.


Responsibilities

  • Organize and prioritize projects and assist with organizing team members, tasks, and meetings.
  • Participate in design strategy sessions and lead the design team with research, concept, and presentation development.
  • Lead client meetings and design presentations, offering expert advice and guidance on design trajectories.
  • Solve design problems through schema0c design and design development.
  • Conceptualize and create design ideas through 3D visualization, mood boards, and hand sketching.
  • Develop project budget, schedule, and programming documentation.
  • Lead clients to capture their visions, preferences, and feedback, ensuring their requirements are central to the design process.
  • Manage multiple projects with multiple deadlines ranging from 3,000 to 10,000 square feet.
  • Perform thorough site surveys to gather crucial information about spaces, capture detailed measurements, understand structural nuances, and note pre-existing materials and finishes.
  • Lead selection and specification of FF&E colors, materials furniture selection, and lead materials presentations.
  • Ensure commitment to quality by delivering design projects on 0me, within stipulated budgets, and to the pinnacle of quality standards. Implement corrective measures to rectify any potential issues promptly.
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with clients, contractors, vendors, and peers.
  • Mentor and develop designers and provide creative direction to the design team.
  • Participate in business development and marketing efforts.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in interior design or interior architecture  
  • 7-10 years of experience  
  • NCIDQ is not required, but would be preferred.  
  • In depth knowledge of Interior Architecture and custom home construction includes
  • trim and cabinet detailing.
  • Successful track record with over 10,000 square foot custom home interiors.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and relationship management skills.
  • Knowledge of furniture, finishes, materials, color selections, and specifications.
  • Graphics and visualization skills to effectively communicate design ideas and produce construction documents.
  • Excellent organizational and prioritizing skills with the ability to adapt to frequently changing priorities.
  • Detail-oriented with accurate data entry skills.
  • Resourceful and have strong retention and recall abilities.
  • Thorough with the ability to proofread own/others work products.
  • Proven ability to meet project timelines.
  • Proven ability to project manage an interior design project and lead a team.
