Project Architect |Â Austin, TX
This is an exciting opportunity to join an established architecture firm in Austin, TX. This Project Architect opportunity is an impactful role working directly with clients and the team.Â
The Project Architect duties will include supporting development of design solutions, preparation of design and construction documents, execution of construction administration functions, code research, and coordination with consultants, contractors, and team members within collaborative, team environment. Â
Responsibilities of Role
- Provide active leadership for technical aspects of projects
- Provide coordination with civil engineering, structural engineering, MEP engineering, and landscape architecture consultant team(s)
- Provide production capability to delivery projects from schematic design phase through construction document phases
- Provide day-to-day project production in REVIT and Bluebeam efforts
- Provide active support for administrative support and operational functions
- Conduct site visits to document existing conditions (limited to 1-2 site visits per month with 1Â overnight travel)
- Provide and support creative design solutions
- Provide technical detailing for projects
- Provide permitting and construction administration efforts
- Provide project code research and oversee efforts with code compliance
- Provide effective written and verbal communication to clients, team members, consultants, Authorities Having Jurisdiction, and general contractors
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Architecture or Bachelor of Environmental Design
- 8-10 years of architecture experience
- Commercial, Healthcare, Veterinary Medicine, Multi-Family, and/ or Hospitality architecture experience is strongly preferred but not required
- Proficiency with the following programs: REVIT, Bluebeam, MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Licensed Architect (NCARB Certified preferred but not required)
- Knowledge and experience with building codes and permitting processes and ability to proficiently research zoning and building codes in jurisdictions out of state. Ability to manage and coordinate activities related to permitting with the Authorities Having Jurisdiction
- Skill set to detail projects, produce construction documents, execute construction administration activities in a collaborative team environment
- Conduct quality assurance/ quality check reviews of permit/ construction drawings
- Conduct site visits to conduct as-built documentation of existing conditions and prepare due diligence reports of existing tenant spaces for future tenant improvement projects.
- Strong organizational skills with focus on attention to detail and commitment to client objectives and project tasks and deadlines
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills
- Ability to perform daily duties independently and collaboratively to produce quality work product within structured delivery process
- Ability to collaborate and engage clients, consultants, contractors and other team members – including mentoring team members
