Job Description
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced, detail-oriented, and curious Architect with residential experience and strong design instincts to join a talented team creating luxurious projects.
We seek for our client an experienced Architect that will carefully study and creatively detail luxury residences for the firm. You will apply your expertise to manage projects from schematic design through the completion of the project. That includes mentoring and guiding other team members on projects. The majority of projects will be focused on traditional and classical residential architecture, but some select projects will be institutional and university work. Key Responsibilities
- Works with a principal and manages a team from schematic design through a substantial project’s completion.
- Collaborates with other design professionals and consultants and coordinates the final work product.
- Plays a lead role in ensuring that the design meets the clients’ schedule and budget and exceeds their expectations.
- Takes a leadership role and represents our firm well to our clients, consultants, and municipal authorities.
- Demonstrates a deep understanding of the technical requirements of projects.
- Has the connoisseurship to develop the design such that all details, materials, mouldings, etc. are consistent with the style of each individual project.
- Has the ability to teach junior team members.
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture
- Portfolio of work
- 5+ years of architectural experience with at least 2 years as a Project Architect
- Minimum of 2 years of recent experience as project architect on residential projects (focused on classical and traditional)
- Prior experience in highly detailed single family residential projects
- Proficiency with AutoCAD
- Proficiency and interest in construction detailing
- Licensure is preferred but not essential
- Previous work on high-profile projects and employment history with noted design firms is appreciated
- Experience working on projects which have been honored through publication or awards is appreciated
- Enjoys the role of mentor to junior staff – personable
