Sales Executive - Design & Home Furnishings |Â New York, NY
Join a well-established design business specialized in delivering high-end furnishings globally. With designer collaborations and cutting-edge design combined with high-quality, one-off products, our client has become a global leader to work with.
We seek for our client a Sales Executive to join their New York team. This executive will be based from one of their New York showrooms as a key member of the growing and dynamic New York team. This Sales Executive will be a primary point of contact for the company’s customers and will need to have an excellent knowledge and appreciation for their home furnishing products and custom capabilities. This person will need to have a friendly outgoing personality and desire to cultivate long-term relationships with our clients. Additionally, this individual needs to be a highly motivated self-starter possessing superb communication skills (both verbal and written) as well as strong organizational skills and the ability to anticipate and troubleshoot client needs. The candidate should possess a solid track record within the high-end luxury furnishings industry with both architects and interior designers.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop business to meet and exceed annual sales goals
- Proactively source new business and schedule outside presentations
- Actively network and attend relevant industry events
- Generate quotes, sales orders, invoices, and delivery documentation for projects
- Manage multiple projects and clients simultaneously, keeping track of all deliverables and deadlines to ensure all client expectations are met, including daily communication and follow-up across various accounts
- Continually find and build relationships with clients within the New York territory
- Work with Studio on customization of designs and bespoke project
- Assist with aftercare questions and advise on solutions
- Coordinate samples for projects and update sample libraries as needed
- Provide timely creation and distribution of marketing and sales reports as requested
- Manage a project pipeline and provide forecasting information as needed by manager
- Be willingness to work with all team members and assist all customers in the showroom
- Attend sales and product meetings as directed by your manager
- Participate in all company sponsored training and showroom meetings
Qualifications
- 3-5+ years of previous sales experience in an inside/outside sales role within the luxury furnishing and design industry highly sought after
- Ability to think creatively in order to sell solutions and win sales
- Management and development of a solid book of business and/or territory
- Strong passion for interior design, art and architecture
- Possess a level of comfort in calling on clients
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Google Suite, previous experience on SAP would be desirable although training will be given
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent time management skills
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced team environment
- Strong self-reliance with the ability to problem-solve and make independent decisions in line with the company’s policies and procedures
- Timely and thoughtful follow-up, provide excellent customer experience and project management
Compensation and Benefits
- Annual Salary + Commissions + Bonus Structure + Full Benefits Package
- Monday – Friday work schedule – based in the showroom with one day in the New York area working with trade/clients
- Guaranteed commissions – first 3 months
