We are seeking a talented, enthusiastic, experienced Senior Architect to
join our client's transparent, autonomous, and collaborative team.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 15 years of professional experience in custom, speculative residential, and multifamily projects. A demonstrable track record of leading design projects from feasibility through completion is required. This role demands a leader who can drive creative design solutions, mentor junior architects, and collaborate closely with clients and stakeholders to deliver outstanding architectural outcomes on-time and on-budget. Must demonstrate creativity, enthusiasm, teamwork, and attention to detail. This position requires a well-rounded knowledge of the field of architecture; both solid design skills and project and practice management skills are required for success in this position.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide studio-level leadership in design, project delivery, and practice operations.
- Oversee day-to-day management of architectural teams, ensuring productivity, professional growth, and high-quality outcomes.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for key clients, consultants, and jurisdictional bodies, managing relationships and communications at all stages of the project lifecycle.
- Guide project teams through design development, documentation, permitting, and construction administration with attention to schedule and budget.
- Lead and support staffing, resourcing, and workflow planning across multiple active projects.
- Develop and implement internal processes that support quality assurance, project tracking, and team performance.
- Mentor junior and mid-level staff through coaching, feedback, and performance reviews, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented studio culture.
- Contribute to firm visibility through participation in presentations, interviews, and jurisdictional design reviews.
- Participate in business development efforts by contributing to proposals, interviews, client presentations, and jurisdictional design review processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Licensed Architect in the State of Washington.
- 15+ years of professional experience, with a focus on custom residential and multifamily projects.
- Demonstrated experience in managing project teams, office operations, and complex project delivery.
- Strong working knowledge of IBC and IRC building codes, entitlement processes, permitting, and construction in the Greater Seattle Area.
- Proficiency in Revit required; experience with AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite beneficial.
- Excellent leadership, team-building, and communication skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities; proven ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Experience working with both developers and custom clients is highly desirable.
