This is an exciting opportunity for a collaborative and detail-oriented Senior Interior Designer to join an established high-end residential design firm. They focus on delivering personal attention to every project they embark on. In this role as the Senior Interior Designer you are the leader to the project team and manage the design development of specific projects. The senior designer plans and executes presentation of the designs. Specific responsibilities include: Liaising with principal, clients, contractors, consultants, vendors, and employees. Overseeing of the design for a client and ensuring that the designs meet client expectations. Selecting of all furnishings for approval by the Principal. Maintaining the projects overall design direction and aesthetic. Managing the delivery of the project, managing and mentoring design staff, overseeing installation. This individual must be highly detailed and organized and want to take charge of a project.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for helping the team define a design direction on specific assignments
- Partners with Principal and Design Director to oversee design culture within the firm is actively promoted, understood and adhered to
- Identify and resolve client and team issues, perform resource allocations, and lead client meetings
- Manages multiple design and architectural projects simultaneously from conception to installation
- Assists with keeping deliverables and schedule (including but not limited to design time billed) aligned on given projects by actively reviewing progress and support/junior staff assignments and delegating accordingly
- Adept at preemptively identifying problems and devising solutions
- Thorough knowledge of constructions sets and required documents to adhere to the firm's standard
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design from an accredited program
- 5+ years’ experience managing all aspects of a design project with at least 4 years exclusively in the high-end residential workplace market
- Expertise in AutoCAD, Studio Designer and Adobe programs
- Excellent (and articulate) communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills
- Strong knowledge of local (and national) vendors
- Ability to interact at all levels of the company and with external parties in a professional manner maintaining effective communication, both written and spoken.
- Ability to organize information, prioritize, have attention to detail, and accurately follow procedures
- Valid US Driver’s License required
