We are seeking a talented Senior Interior Designer to join our client’s collaborative team, specializing in upscale hospitality and luxury senior-living projects. In this role, you will take the lead in planning and executing designs, applying seasoned judgment to adapt and refine standard techniques, materials, and processes. You will work closely with clients, principals, architects, vendors, and consultants to bring all project details to life—overseeing designs, preparing presentations, and ensuring compliance with contract documents. Your expertise in FF&E selection, budgeting, and specifications will be essential in delivering high-end, thoughtfully curated spaces.

Key Responsibilities

  • Planning and producing work requiring seasoned judgment in the evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation or modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria.
  • Coordination with clients, purchasing agents and vendors to bring all project details to fruition.
  • Preparing designs, drawings, renderings and presentations, evaluating and selecting materials and furnishings, making artwork selections, and reviewing compliance of work in the field to the contract documents.
  • Writing specifications and reports; preparing FF&E budgets.
  • Checking completed specifications, plans, estimates, budgets, reports, and calculations.
  • Devising new approaches and solutions to problems encountered.
  • Selecting and determining procedures in matters of the job process.
  • Receiving technical guidance on unusual or complex problems and supervisory approval on proposed plans for projects.
  • Performing assignments under the general direction and supervision of a Principal.
  • Independently performing most assignments with instructions as to the general results expected.
  • As appropriate, may supervise staff members on assigned work.
  • Provide direction, guidance, and mentoring to junior interior design staff.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in interior design from an accredited university
  • 7-12 years of experience in hospitality, commercial, and/or workplace design
  • Proficient in Revit & Microsoft Office Suite and other visual communication software. Knowledge of SketchUp and Photoshop is a plus.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the design process, experience with space planning, construction documentation, construction administration, furniture & specialty lighting specification. Proficient in review of other disciplines drawings.
  • Strong conceptual design and schematic design skills
  • Strong FF&E skills with furniture and material vendor knowledge to efficiently select items appropriate based on style and budget.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects with varying timelines.
  • Must be self-sufficient, organized, exhibit good judgment and resourcefulness, driven to excel and participate in all facets of design.
  • Engage in a proactive & collaborative approach with fellow employees, clients, general contractors, and other design disciplines.
  • Possess excellent communication skills, a team attitude, and the ability to contribute to a positive and effective firm environment.
  • Ability to travel when needed.
