The Senior Interior Designer will oversee multiple design projects for the firm from conception to completion. The Senior Interior Designer will work directly with clients and collaborate with the firm's principal. This role calls for an experienced Interior Designer who can leverage their expertise in design to lead multiple residential projects, including design team members. The Senior Interior Designer will impact the company, work directly with clients, lead and manage design team members, design and coordinate projects, and more. Responsibilities include
Design Leadership
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, written, and graphic communication skills.
- Leading, managing, and mentoring Design Team throughout the entire project lifecycle
- Project Management of design team and tasks related to projects
- Maintaining and developing client relationships
- Desire to be helpful and work in a collaborative team atmosphere
- Manage onsite coordination with contractors and subcontractors
- Managing approvals of design teamwork before submission
- Manage and/or provide support with initial client consultations and walk throughs and development of scope for design agreements
- Lead client presentations, as needed
- Create mood and concept boards for projects
- Lead in-studio vendor meetings and develop/enhance vendor relations.
- Coordinate and lead on-site meetings with trades
- Manage on-site measurements and photos to ensure all details are correct before design work begins
- Develop floor plans and color schemes
- Support project management with client, contractors, subs, etc.
- Manage and review CAD drawings (floor plans, elevations, tile drawings, etc.) and construction spec documents
- Architect and builder liaison
- Manage prep for installations by confirming design team has needed materials (binders, supplies, light bulbs, etc.), as well as specifications & drawings needed
- Assign team members for check-in of items at installation
- Manage styling and client reveals and subsequent celebrations
- Assist with styling, as needed
- Develop shot lists for photoshoots/approve final shots on set with Principal Designer
- Work with Principal Designer in designing, reviewing, enhancing, testing, and providing feedback for new product designs
- Assist in final prep of product design materials
- Support Design Team by providing photos, client testimonials, social media post ideas and other marketing support from jobsite walks and installations to enhance company brand
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from a 4-year CIDA accredited Interior Design program or equivalent
- 5-10 years of interior design experience in a design firm, focus on residential interior design
- Software proficiency in AutoCAD, Studio Designer, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Complete understating of luxury textiles, rugs, window coverings, and upholstery, furnishings, and decoration
- Experience in project management
- Experience in managing creative design teams of 3-5 designers in a detailed project management environment
- Builder and Architect relations skills
- Experience in styling
- Willing to travel as needed for Markets and out of state clients
